Change is afoot at Asking For Trouble with the change in the weather. It really is time to think of Christmas but my mind is almost entirely consumed by the fact that I am going to Japan on Sunday! However, when I return, Christmas will be demanding my attention so I have been doing a little bit of preparation. Here is what is happening over the next few weeks:
I am having a shop clearout and, yes, that means A SALE! While I’m away in Japan you can have a good rummage through my wares knowing you are getting a bargain, whether it’s an early Christmas present or a little something for yourself. Look out for more details on this in the next couple of days.
When I return, I will be listing up (and frantically making) piles of new things which will be much more collection based and less random. I’ve been drawing up nice packaging to help group collections together more clearly. That’s some prototypes up there at the top. New things in the making include lots and lots of cute Japanese fabric purses, more Animal Dreams tote bags, some adorable new sets of polka dot purses and gift boxes of cards.
I also plan to return with an enormous suitcase full of Tokyo’s greatest fabrics, paper, stickers and general kawaii which will no doubt turn up in my crafting very soon. Christmas is primary prototype time for me with all those friends and relatives happy to receive those slightly imperfect but amazing ideas before I get things quite worked out. I already have plans for some very special things which will be available exclusively online!
Due to all of the above, some of my product lines will be discontinued. First to go will be the patterned paper covered notebooks (though I will still make washi covered notebooks) as the imperfection rate is getting too high and the Star Flower brooches. There’s a couple of these left in the shop so hop on over if you’re going to miss them.
I will be appearing at a few craft markets and gift fairs around Glasgow in the run up to Christmas – keep an eye on the Events Page if you’d like to see my stuff in real life alongside lots of talented crafters. I will also have news of a couple of new stockists very soon. And, don’t forget, the Gifted exhibition opens on November 16th. Lots more on that when I get back.
And, finally, the Glasgow Craft Mafia will be having its launch party on the 25th October. Sadly I will miss it being in Japan but some of my work will be included in the display and you can meet the rest of the gang and find out more about the upcoming Mafia Markets and about getting crafty in general. Go look at the spanky new website.
