Christmas Holiday Walks

Crannoch Wood walk

We had some really lovely weather over Christmas which almost made up for the lack of snow. Here’s a few photos from our winter walks.

cullen

Here I am as the new monarch of a tiny ruin above Cullen. It is almost big enough for me.

Cullen

I’d never been up so high above Cullen before and the views were pretty amazing.

We also had a wander through nearby Crannoch Wood where we saw some deer and geese.

Look at that light! It’s ridiculous.

Dunnottar Castle

Another day we went over to Dunnottar Castle near Stonehaven. We had tried to visit once before, but it was so foggy you couldn’t even see the castle! This time we had much better weather.

Dunnottar Castle

It’s a ruined medieval fortress with lots of different buildings scattered across the cliff tops. I really loved all the layers of ruins through ruins. This is the smithy.

There were amazing views through all the windows. This one is through a tiny spy hole.

By the end of it, we were pretty much ready to move in. I could get used to seeing this view every morning!
