Here’s a look back at my month with photos, blog posts, plans & goals progress, links and more.
What I’ve been up to
November has thankfully been much better and while things are still a bit worrying in lots of ways, at least there has been some fun happy stuff too. It’s been feeling quite festive with Christmas stuff to review and even a bit of snow and I’ve also been busy working on my freelance website (please hire me!) and checking off quite a few of my plans & goals (see below). I also got my new glasses (they’re green!) so hopefully I can get back to crafting soon too.

Plans & Goals Progress
- Books, Comics & Zines I Read in 2024 – 8 more, reading challenge completed! Trying to get to 52 now.
- I went out on my bike again! It’s maybe too cold for further rides but I will be considering it if the weather is nice.
- I made good waffles again – and also cinnamon buns and crumble and a lot of other stuff. Cooking, it’s like crafts but you can eat it.
- Sell some clothes on Vinted was stupidly-phrased but I have listed some – why not buy my stuff (lots more to come)
- Things that should have been on the list: I sent my Joy-cons to the Nintendo repair shop and it was a delightful experience and free! They work perfectly again and I should have done it years ago.
Links I Loved
- Bluesky really blew up this month and feels really active and fun now. I’m still struggling a bit with posting stuff but you can follow me and SCK there.
- Makiko Itoh is back with another round of Christmas Cakes in Japan, sharing all the incredible, luxury and kawaii cakes available this year. There’s so many she posts daily until Christmas so follow along on Facebook or join her Patreon for $1 and get extra bonus cakes.
- Great article at the Guardian catching up with Huggy Bear. Still just about managing to resist buying the very expensive book.
- I really enjoy Alison Roman’s podcast where she and a guest provide advice to callers. It’s usually food/cooking related but always entertaining.
- Another thing I’ve been working hard on: this year’s edition of Black Friday Discounts at Kawaii Shops and a new guide for The Best Shops For Cute Craft Supplies Worldwide.
- Or Merryn’s 2024 Christmas gift guide is live for more shopping ideas from small shops and makers.
- A reminder that I share all my kawaii & Japan links on the Super Cute Kawaii newsletter. It’s free!
