I always feel like I am over-doing these posts, but I actually haven’t done one for four weeks so here’s all the interesting Japan-related stuff I’ve been bookmarking recently. The amazing Tokyo drain cover lino print above is by Woah There Pickle. I love it.
Some interesting foodie reads: Hokkaido, Japan: The Land of Milk and Uni at Bon Appetit, lots of fun food posts by Eataku and Japanese food book reviews at Kyoto Journal.
RocketNews24 have been to the new KitKat Chocolatory store in Ikebukuro – looks fun for a visit. There was also a food fair in Tokyo recently – this blog post is in Japanese but check out the photos, especially the Solar System chocolates!
One for future trip planning – the Nippon Bonsai Association have regular exhibitions around Japan – check the event calendar for dates and locations (you’ll need Google Translate – Chrome is awesome for this) (via Tokyo Cheapo)
Kao-ani has an amazing post full of photos of cats traveling around Japan for a guide – so cute! This Kawaii Shopping in Tokyo guide also popped up on Pinterest recently – anyone seen a copy? The website reads really bizarrely, like they’re selling some kind of miracle cure.
And finally, Sanrio’s newest character is Kirimi-chan, a salmon fillet! This was chosen by a public vote so it will be interesting to see how popular she is, along with her sea bream and mackerel friends. I do kind of want that rectangular plate.
