Society6 sent me a voucher recently in return for filling out a survey so I decided to order one of the new notebooks and see what they’re like. I picked my Cutie Fruity Watercolours pattern and it shipped the next day, arriving pretty quickly and with no customs fees, yay!
The notebooks are 6″ x 8″, so basically A5 with wraparound artwork across the laminate cover and perfect-bound for a nice sharp spine. As you can see, it handles the painted style really well and the colours are just a little darker than advertised. I might lighten up the artwork a bit to compensate for that in future.
The notebooks have 52 pages and you can choose from lined or blank paper. I went with lined for no particular reason – let’s face it, this notebook is going on my pile of pretty notebooks I will never use. The lines are well spaced though and the paper feels good quality. I tried a few pens and the only ones that bled through were Copic markers so it’s probably better for notes and doodles rather than a sketchbook.
At $14 each (or 3 for $35), this is not the cheapest notebook around but it’s good quality and will last you a good while, plus you can choose from so many cute designs! Society6 have regular offers so it’s always worth waiting for a discount and free shipping.
I also got a voucher from Redbubble to celebrate their 10th birthday so I’ll have another review soon.
