I’ve probably said it a million times before, but I love having a mantelpiece. My springtime mantelpiece display stayed up all through the summer, but I’ve slowly been changing it into a Halloween display.
Here’s how it looks this year. There are a few non-spooky things as I’ve really not seen many cute decorations to add to my collection recently.
I made one last minute addition last night – a Little Ghost pom pom! I used Pom Maker’s ghost tutorial as inspiration and then changed it a bit to look more like my ghosts. The eyes and mouth are cut from felt and glued on with fabric glue. I love it so much.
I also picked up some spooky Pusheen plush. I bought three to review for Super Cute Kawaii and got all my top choices! I kept the two pumpkins, as I knew they’d be great for my display, and gave the bat to Nic.
The ghost in a jar I made for Hannah Zakari’s window display 7 years ago (really?!). It also lives on in my Halloween badge set.
This Hello Kitty donut squishy was in a YumeTwins subscription box that I reviewed for SCK. I’m not generally a big squishy fan but this is really cute and I got the best choice as well.
Ghosts on sticks from my free paper craft tutorial. I need to make some new pom poms for my cups. Maybe cactus style!
And don’t forget my free printable garland, which you can easily put together at the weekend for some quick decorations.
Safety note: my gas fire has been disconnected so I can put anything I like on my mantelpiece but I would avoid putting things like plush and paper decorations near a real fire.
