Recent Purchases & Japan Shopping

Here’s some notable things I’ve bought recently, plus you can see everything I bought in Japan!

Little Miss Paintbrush chibi portrait

Japan Halloween Chibis

Let’s start with the cutest! For Nicolette’s Christmas present, I commissioned Little Miss Paintbrush to draw us in our Halloween outfits at Universal Studios Japan. She made us so cute! I had a few postcards printed so I could give something other than a digital file and one is now framed in my bedroom as a happy reminder of our fun trip. You can contact Chichi about commissions – or join her Patreon as it’s one of the rewards.

Sumikko Gurashi Christmas plush

Sumikko Gurashi Christmas plush

We got to shop some of the Christmas ranges in our last days in Japan, but the Sumikko Gurashi plush weren’t available until after we left. I had to have Christmas Cake Shirokuma so I ordered these from San-X (using Tenso) and kept them hidden until I could give the cat to Nicolette for Christmas.

Pusheen Christmas wreath plush

Pusheen Christmas Wreath

I also gave in and bought the Pusheen Christmas wreath when it was half price. I’m really glad I did as it’s so adorable and the perfect size to go next to my small tree. It’s really fluffy too and even has a bell. I was so sad to pack it away but it will motivate me to get my decorations up early this year.

Pusheen Snowman enamel pin

Snowsheen Enamel Pin

I also picked up the glittery Snowsheen enamel pin from the latest ARTBOX collaboration. I love Pusheen as a snowman and wore this over Christmas. I’m sure we’ll get some snow over the next few months so I can keep wearing it.

Christmas Enamel Pins

I’ve not been buying many enamel pins but I had to get these Christmas ones. The gingerbread man by Katnipp is too cute and really good quality. I’m still wearing it on my hoodie. I also couldn’t resist this little pigeon post stamp pin by Flea Circus Designs – look at the tiny gingerbread man and snowman!

Schinako mug

Schinako Mug

I didn’t get many Christmas presents – because Japan! – but I was very happy to get this bunny mug by Schinako, available from Society6. It made it home safely and I’m using it for my morning tea.

All My Japan Buys

I’ve uploaded photos of all the stuff I bought in Japan to Flickr if you want a look. Rilakkuma has quite a wardrobe now! His current outfit and the pyjamas were also Christmas presents. Check out my post on Super Cute Kawaii today to read more about my favourites.
