You may have noticed some changes around here as my blog has had a refresh! I’ve been meaning to do this for months but I couldn’t find a theme I liked as much as the one I used for Super Cute Kawaii so I just gave in and used that again. Editing blog templates is the sort of thing I like to do when I’m sick as it’s all very logical, but I almost completely broke my blog a few times due to brain stupidity. Oh well, it’s all done now (though I will probably still fiddle with the design over the next week or two).
The new design fixes all the things that were driving me mad about the old design. The text is easier to read and formatted a bit better for informational pages. My blog archives are faster to browse and I’ve rejigged the top navigation a bit so hopefully you can find what you’re looking for in 9 years of blogging.
I’ve also added a few things for fun, like Featured Posts. We use this on SCK to feature older posts you might have missed and to re-promote seasonal stuff so I’ve borrowed that too and will update it every month or so. Don’t forget to download my free Easter Bunny garland for the weekend!
I used to have a bunch of rotating banners at the top, but I’ve just got one now, which I love. I will probably replace it seasonally to keep things fresh but we’ll see. Everything works nice on mobiles too of course. You’ll just find all the sidebar content at the end of the posts instead.
Anyway, I hope you like it and are inspired to have a dig around the archives. I’ve been updating my Japan content and adding new pages so there’s plenty to read.
