I joined a new site recently so you can send my designs as personalised greetings cards. You’d think the last thing I needed was another on-demand partner, but cards have always been a bit of a problem. Society6 & Redbubble don’t allow me to upload a size specifically for cards and Zazzle’s shipping costs can be a bit crazy outside of the US. Thortful fixes all those, with custom designed cards that can be shipped out the same day with affordable shipping everywhere.
I ordered a card to test the quality and it was all very simple. You just choose your design, add your own message in a choice of fonts and have it sent either to yourself or directly to the recipient. I chose my bee and added a pun-tastic birthday message, but you can add up to nine lines of text so plenty room for a personal message. If you order before 2pm your card is posted the same day and shipping costs are extremely low – just 64p for the UK and £1.30 worldwide.
I ordered after 2pm so my card shipped the next day and arrived the following day. It’s posted in a paper envelope so mine was a tiny bit creased but nothing too noticeable. As you might have guessed from the whimsical name, Thortful are also concerned about the environment and all cards and envelopes are made from FSC certified and 100% recycled papers and card. The card has a nice matt finish and the colours were correct and bright. At a larger A5 size there’s plenty room for family and group greetings and makes it very affordable at £2.99. You can also choose to have a blank envelope included free of charge.
Once you’re signed up you can earn credits for referring friends and add important birthdays and events in your account to be sent a reminder, plus save your favourite card designs to buy later.
