Since my birthday was on a Saturday this year, I thought I should go away but not too far since it always snows. So I booked an overnight trip to Edinburgh and ended up getting the most glorious sunny weather!
I stayed at Hotel Indigo and it was an absolute dream – look at my room! It had a wall made of books, lamps made of old typewriters and furniture made of old reference drawers.
It’s also perfectly situated opposite Waverley station and included more free snacks than I could eat by myself. Lots more pics on li.st after everyone went insane over it.
I’m always in a rush when I visit during the day since off-peak tickets force me to cram everything into few hours so it was nice to have the time to wander about. I went up Calton Hill for the first time in years, which is always good for a pretty skyline photo.
My dad was also in Edinburgh so that was extra nice and involved a lot of tapas and cake, plus some great exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery. It’s such a beautiful building.
And of course, I had to pop into Hannah Zakari and spend some of my birthday money. The two Bel’s Art World pins came home with me where I discovered more pins from Nicolette in my birthday presents. My pin frame is getting quite full now. More on my presents soon!
