I’m now three quarters of the way through my 100 Days of Kawaii Characters project! Here’s a look back at the last 12 days – for the daily posts, follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
Days 65-68
- Piggy Bank – I drew this for a possible post about my own spending habits that I don’t think will happen. (Illustrator)
- Glass of Milk – Not sure why I made this milk as I hate drinking milk. (Illustrator)
- Fizzy Pop – I had a whole bunch of drinks characters in an old sketchbook. (Illustrator)
- Pluto – A long-deserved update now we know what he really looks like. (Illustrator)
Days 69-72
- Crepe – All these Japan characters will be useful for my future books/guides! (Illustrator)
- Taiyako – I’ve never eaten one – maybe on this trip? (Illustrator)
- Stormy Weather pattern – I may be missing the sunshine. (Illustrator/Photoshop)
- Tennis Ball – Yay, grass court tennis season has arrived. (Sketch/iPad)
Days 73-76
- Pizza – with lots of veggie toppings. Not what I would order myself. (Sketch/iPad)
- Happy Mail – these should be appearing in a pattern soon. (Illustrator)
- Boiled Egg – who knew yolks were so huggable?(Illustrator)
- Water Bottle – stay hydrated this summer! (Illustrator)
I’m taking a little break from this project as my family are all visiting me this week. I also want to make a plan for the final quarter as I still have over 50 character and pattern ideas on my list! Some of the things I was most excited to try drawing are still on that list so I’ll take some time to work on those without slinging out another quick character to meet the daily deadline. I still expect to be done with all this by the end of July or early August.
