Writing about our 2018 Japan trip has been tricky as we did so many kawaii things that many of the posts really fit better on Super Cute Kawaii. But then they’re not part of the huge Japan guide on my own blog!
As a compromise, if I write a big info post on SCK I’ll also share little update posts like this. I’ll eventually add shorter information pages for those places too. Anyway, here’s two cute character cafes I’ve written about already.
Rilakkuma Sabo Cafe & Shop, Arashiyama
Rilakkuma Sabo is an adorable cafe & shop in Arashiyama, near Kyoto. It has a more traditional Japanese style and the food is much healthier than most character cafes with seasonal fruit and vegetables, cute takes on traditional meals and lots of Rilakkuma’s favourite honey. The food tasted as good as it looked and there were even options suitable for vegetarians.
There’s also a large shop downstairs with exclusive Rilakkuma food products and character goods, plus takeaway ice cream and honey fries. There’s also another branch on Miyajima, near Hiroshima. Read the full post at SCK >>
Pokemon Cafe, Tokyo
We were very excited to book a visit to the permanent Pokemon Cafe at the new Pokemon Center DX near Tokyo station. The whole experience was great with super cute decor, easy iPad ordering and even a visit from Eeevee!
We were especially impressed with how good the food was as usually character cafe food looks a lot better than it tastes. There’s also exclusive merchandise and a huge Pokemon shop next door. Read the full post at SCK >>
