It’s been a bit quiet on the blog this month (mostly because the weather is so nice!) so here’s some of the fun things I’ve been buying lately.
I haven’t been buying many enamel pins this year but how could I resist this artist bunny by Coco Glez? I love the sentiment and also it’s an adorable bunny. Now I just need a similar pin for authors (I searched once on Etsy and all the writer-themed pins were typewriters or quills because apparently only olde-tyme people can write?).
Sometimes I feel like people are making things especially for me, like this space bunny enamel pin by Luna Lotus. I was reading Watership Down at the time as well. I always forget to check dimensions on pins and this one turned out to be huge with lots of nice details.
If you’re not following Pikaole on Patreon you’re really missing out as her rewards are so generous and you can’t get them anywhere else. I’m only on the $3 tier but I got my choice of 6 super cute postcards, plus a sticker sheet and a roll of washi tape! I love her process posts as well.
I’m also still loving being a Rainbowholic patron. Kaila has been sending out a postcard every month to $5 patrons and she always picks the cutest designs.
For my birthday, I bought myself a Nintendo Switch! I haven’t had a non-handheld console since the Gamecube so it’s been extremely exciting. If you’ve also been living under a rock, the Switch can be plugged into the TV and used with the controller, or you can pop out the controller ends and attach them to the screen for handheld play. I’ve been playing a lot of Mario Kart while waiting impatiently for Animal Crossing, Mineko’s Market and the Link’s Awakening remake.
I also went to see The Lego Movie 2 and bought myself Benny’s Space Squad of astronauts to add to my collection. I think we might have enough people to launch the Lego Hubble space telescope now. Mini-me is in the middle ready to take some photos.
My original 80s astronaut looks pretty good next to Benny. I was also pleased to see that the only astronaut with a girl’s name wasn’t the pink one.
I loved my first Pusheen Box back in 2017 but the shipping and customs fees meant it had to be a one-off for me. Happily, they’ve been doing some offers for international fans and I was able to get the Spring 2019 box at a big discount. I’ll be sharing the full contents on Super Cute Kawaii next month but you can currently get reduced $6 international shipping on your first Pusheen Box.
I also have a new flatmate but I will tell you about him another time.
