Recent News Round Up

There’s been a few little things happening lately that I haven’t had a chance to share so here they are.

Tofu Cute interview & giveaways

SCK Tofu Cute interview

Tofu Cute are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a DigiFest of fun activities, contests and more. They interviewed me about Super Cute Kawaii, my book and my plush collection and you can read it here.

The Super Cute Book of Kawaii

We also teamed up for a crossover giveaway so head to the SCK Instagram for a chance to win a snacks lucky bag and to Tofu Cute’s for a chance to win a signed copy of The Super Cute Book of Kawaii.

New Spoonflower fabric & contests

Spoonflower fabric

I uploaded all my recent patterns to my Spoonflower store – there’s animal donuts, cupcakes, flowers, rainbows and the SCK animal mascots. They’re now available on lots of different fabrics, wallpaper and readymade textile products.

I also entered the SCK mascots in the latest design challenge celebrating 500 challenges! I used to enter all the time in the early days so it was nice to be part of this one that is all about our “signature style and creative contribution to the world”. Voting opens later today and closes next Tuesday. If you’ve only got the energy for one round of voting, save it for the following week and the 2021 tea towel calendar challenge, as I was organised enough to enter that too!

Paul Cannell

If you’ve followed this blog for a long time, you might remember a few posts about Paul Cannell, the late artist behind Primal Scream’s Screamadelica album cover, who I interviewed as a teenager. Damp Water Spot is a new website and art project inspired by his life and work and I’ve been helping out. Here’s a piece I wrote about my memories of Paul and another post about the interview tape. Get involved if you can.

And that’s all for now.
