My birthday was at the end of March but since I still have a second family birthday trip happening later in May, it technically isn’t even over yet! Here’s some of my gifts and other fun things.

My birthday started a week early when I got a big box of daffodils in the post from my mum, enough for a bunch in 2 different rooms. I love how cheerful they are and they just about lasted until my actual birthday.

Nicolette came to visit the weekend before my birthday and brought this lovely card she made from felt with a squishy Angel Bunny! Despite not having the real thing to reference it turned out almost exactly life size. Also nice that it’s not really birthday-themed so I’ve been able to keep it on display.

She also bought cake – or more specifically, tarts – and kawaii candles. The rest of the visit involved pizza, watching the Super Mario movie (Not Terrible!) and a lot of Mario Kart on my new enormous TV (a lifechanger for gaming after tiny TVs).

My dad and his partner came to visit on my actual birthday so this is my eventual present haul from them, my mum and Nic. The bunny basket is crammed full of edible treats that I am still nowhere near finishing. You can also note Sherlock Puffin, who is now standing in my window investigating The Case of the Missing Christmas Puffin (Royal Mail sadly delivered it to an empty flat across the road and we haven’t been able to get it back….yet!)

Some highlights:
- Bunny cupcake plush from Jellycat, which came in a lovely gift box with card.
- Paperchase snack boxes. I’ve apparently been using my Mamegoma boxes constantly for EIGHTEEN YEARS so not very surprising that the designs are peeling off. Having new ones is really great.
- Bunny crockery from ASDA of all places. This is all so pretty but especially the side plate. The massive ‘pasta bowl’ in the middle of the stack is going to be ideal for salads.
- A jumping bunnies Easter craft kit that I made for SCK.

We stayed in Glasgow overnight and then went to Braehead the next day where I couldn’t not buy this bunny-shaped ceramic pot in IKEA. I would probably have preferred the little yellow egg cup version but it was sold out.

I also tried out some bikes in Decathlon and bought a new rain jacket instead (replacing my trademark yellow jacket which started falling apart after 10 years) and got some new shoes too. I have since swapped in some pink laces which are much cuter.

I was also gifted some really incredible weather which brought the pink cherry blossom out a bit early. I’ll share some photos next from my joint birthday trip with my mum to Dundee and then I’ll be going to Fort William with my dad. These were both my suggestions btw, why even bother leaving Scotland!
