My Year in Crafts

Here’s a look back at all my craft projects from 2025 and what I’m planning to make in 2026. This wasn’t my most creative year, for many reasons, but I still managed to make quite a few things I’m proud of. I also finished everything I started, which is no small feat! I blogged about most of them on Super Cute Kawaii – click through if you want more details.

Pokemon cross stitch

Cross stitch was still my main craft of choice as it doesn’t need my full focus and I don’t really have to make any creative decisions. My first project of the year – and the most impressive – was this one from the official Pokemon Cross Stitch book. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it but I learned a lot and it looks cool.

I finished off the year with cross stitch too, making these gingerbread ornaments from the Stitch Mail box, and using some of the mini motifs to make mini ornaments (using a long-hoarded mini hoop kit!). I also stitched a huge thing for my own amusement, and part of the same design to fit in my little yellow hoop. Making things without the pressure of sharing them is a good thing to learn again I think.

Having said that, I do really love trying new things for gifted/sponsored reviews and the Rolife Super Creator Miniature House Kits were my favourite make of the year. Almost every step was incredibly fun (the ceiling lights were not but look so good) and I would happily make the entire series if I had the money and space.

A few other quick things I made: ROKR Red Rose Bouquet (mini review at the end of the Super Creator post), Jumping Easter Bunnies Kit I got for my birthday, LEGO plants I got for Christmas, and another long-hoarded kit to make Bunny Onigiri.

2026 Craft Plans

My main craft goal last year was to try and finish things from the list of All My Unfinished Craft Projects. I can cross off the Pokemon Cross Stitch book, mini embroidery hoops kit and the yellow hoop. The other goals were making Christmas gifts again (we came up with a better plan but I did also make ornaments) and trying to enjoy making things again (a definite yes). This year’s goals:

  • Turn that unfinished projects post into a page where I can add new things and link to posts after I finish them.
  • Complete my Christmas kit (Patchwork Party Pouch)
  • Do some embroidery
  • Use my Etsy gift card balance to try something new
