Reading
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sequel to Six of Crows. It’s not quite as unputdownable but just as exciting with plots within plots and all manner of twists. I really liked the ending too – tying up most things but not fixing anyone’s problems and leaving a lot open for possible sequels. I need more Wylan & Jesper being adorable please.
Shackleton’s Journey by William Grill 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This has been on my wish list forever so I was pretty excited to get it for Christmas. It’s technically a kids book but I’ll take beautifully illustrated history books at any age. It covers all the details of Shackleton’s epic Antarctica expedition including the cutest tiny portraits of all the members (and dogs!). Even knowing the story well, I learned a few things and enjoyed it immensely.
Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So well imagined. It has the plot and style of a Jane Austen novel but all the characters are dragons! I really enjoyed all the details about their society, laws and customs and I hope she writes more in this universe.
