A look back at my month with photos, blog posts, plans & goals progress, links and more.
What I’ve been up to

March is my birthday month so look out for another post soon with all my cute presents. It was a Wednesday this year so I didn’t do anything much, except go out in the horrendous weather for some cake. I got a new p/t job so that has kept me busy, especially as business stuff has been quiet. It’s been super-windy lately so I don’t have many other everyday photos to share but there’s more below. At least the swans are back!
Purchases & Gifts

No one bought me this happy vase for my birthday so I bought it myself – and the matching measuring spoons. They’re just so happy and make me smile every time I see them.

I bought myself a few more things too – a beautiful embroidery book that’s really inspiring, some supplies from The Make Arcade’s sale, and a really fluffy cherry bath mat that I haven’t managed to photograph yet (my bathroom is very small and not photogenic even on a good day).

I’ve also been sorting out a few things for my Belgium trip in April, including my luggage options. My new backpack is looking a bit cuter and my old Cath Kidston bag is back out of retirement with a new rainbow strap.

The Spring Pusheen Box had a lot of great stuff too – the utensil set is perfect for travel and the long sleeve tee is so cute and comfy. I enjoyed my photo lunch as well, though I had to keep half for the next day as that’s a very deep bento box! You can read my review on SCK.

Plans & Goals Progress
Books: I read 6 more so I’m now 6 books ahead of schedule! You can see them all in Books, Comics & Zines I Read in 2026.

Crafts: It was a very crafty month and already wrote about some of my recent projects. I’ve now finished my bargello experiment which has worked almost perfectly so I’ll blog about that soon. I also enjoyed making the Rolife Fairytale Amusement Park Book Nook Kit for a Super Cute Kawaii review. I now have nothing to work on so I’ve been browsing kits & patterns to spend my Etsy gift card balance on.

Cycling: Big month on Zwift too as 24 weeks in a row got me the animated Scotty the squirrel plush that now sits in my back pocket on every ride. They really know what motivates me. I also hit 100 activities on Strava. I entered my first individual time trial event (I wasn’t last!) to get 3 stages of the Zwift Games. First time in the Climb Portal (recreations of real life climbs) too as they have all the famous climbs from the Spring Classics. I’ve now done the Poggio, Oude Kwaremont & Paterberg, all of which are certainly harder than they look on TV.
Generally Good Stuff

I’m still playing Animal Crossing New Horizons every day, even though there’s not much left to do. Spring is so pretty though and the sakura will be here soon. I was looking forward to seeing who’s forgiven me for disappearing for 3 years and would host my birthday party. It was Wade the penguin (my favourite villager, don’t tell the others) and 2 more of my littlest guys.
I went to the cinema for the first time in forever, to see Project Hail Mary, which was a pretty great adaptation. They really curated a perfect selection of trailers to appeal to me but I think I’ll only be going back for the Mandalorian. I haven’t been watching a lot of TV, but I do have a backlog of terrestrial TV to catch up on now that I don’t have any streaming subscriptions.
