My Christmas Cards & 2017 Monthly Project

christmas card

I didn’t make as many Christmas cards for friends and family this year as they were quite time consuming and, as usual, I left it until the last minute. So much so that once again I forgot to take photos of the finished cards before I posted them! Luckily Nicolette took this one with her cute Christmas tree.

Paper-cut Snowman Christmas Card

Inspired by the stamps I made for my Penny Black window decorations, these cards were a ridiculous 5 layers of cutouts so it took a few evenings in front of the TV with the double sided tape to finish them. The best moment was when I realised I could use the polka dot card I had bought with no purpose in mind. Well done, past me.

paper cutting

I’ve had a lot of fun playing with my Silhouette paper cutting machine and it’s going to help me with this year’s monthly project challenge. I’m going to create paper cut versions of characters new and old that you’ll be able to use to make cute cards and gifts. You won’t need a machine as they’ll be just as easy to make with geometric shapes and templates.

I’m not sticking to an exact schedule but I plan to have a new one up on the blog around the beginning of each month and will share them to my mailing list too. Look out for the first one in a couple of weeks!
