The weather has been so terrible since I got back from Japan that it’s been hard to find a nice weekend to go up and visit my family. I went anyway and managed to pick a mostly sunny patch. Here’s what we got up to.
On the Friday, after a morning of catching Pokemon in the garden, we went birdwatching at Spynie Loch where there’s a hide set up. We had it all to ourselves and managed to spot quite a few different birds including a cormorant, woodpecker and kingfisher.
It was a bit too damp for a walk sadly but Angel Bunny did find a swing to play on.
It’s not a proper holiday without cake and I had this very strawberry-themed afternoon tea at Aroma the next day. That’s cheesecake in an espresso cup, if you were wondering. We certainly were. You should check out their cake photos because it’s always quite a display!
Even better were the Miffy cookies I bought in Japan that I finally got to hand over to my mum! They’re so cute and pretty tasty too, especially the cocoa one.
I also got introduced to the tiny ducklings at Loch Soy – squee! More pics next week.
