I had a really nice long Christmas holiday, with a week of it up north with family. As always, we went on some lovely walks so here’s a few photos.
Tarlair Open Air Pool
This has to be one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited. Tarlair is an outdoor swimming pool (with boating pond and art deco tea pavilion!) near Macduff surrounded by dramatic cliffs. We picked such a good day as the reflections were perfect – I can’t get over how still the swimming pool is, especially contrasted with the rough sea. The pools are fed by seawater and unheated so it would be pretty chilly even in the summer but there are hopes to restore it to its Art Deco glory. Fingers crossed!
Temple of Pomona
This was not a fun walk as it was very muddy and tussocky but did have something good at the end. The Temple of Pomona is a folly in Cullen and pretty hard to get to. Just about worth it for the photos.
Lossiemouth
And no trip home is complete without a walk around my hometown, Lossiemouth. We timed things perfectly on Christmas Eve with just enough time to stop for a late lunch before the most beautiful sunset. The views were so good they inspired one of my followers @sesame.lettuce to make a painting!
I saved some videos in my Instagram Stories and you can also see lots more photos on my Flickr.
