Every year, I design a special Christmas card for my family and friends so let’s have a look at this years, plus some fun DIY crackers.

I’ve drawn my Trapped Ghost inside all kinds of silly things but it took me this long to think of a snow globe! As soon as the idea popped into my head I knew I had to do it. I considered some more complicated print plans but ended up just doing a digital drawing printed on watercolour paper. That’s the finished card above.

The original drawing had night time colours but they didn’t print very well on my home printer so I ended up changing it to daytime. A few people preferred this version, as do I, so I’ll be trying to get some printed professionally for next Christmas. If you’d like to know more about the design process, I wrote a post on my Patreon.

Last year, I promised to make Christmas crackers with not-terrible contents and even bought this surprisingly-cute DIY kit from a local bargain shop. Obviously I then forgot all about it until I unpacked my decorations!
I had a lot of fun finding cheap little gifts for everyone and Nic brought something for mine. The kit included snaps, bows and paper crowns, plus the worst activity jokes you’ve ever seen. I replaced those with positive topics to chat about like ‘best walk of 2019’ and ‘3 things you want to do in 2020’. Definitely doing this again.
