Christmas Gifts & Purchases

I’m a bit late with this one but I was waiting for my only Black Friday purchase to arrive. Here’s what I got for Christmas and a few other things I bought for myself.

christmas gifts

We didn’t really do a lot of gifts this year but I got plenty cute little things. Clockwise from top left: cookie jumper ornament handmade by Nicolette, sparkly ghost decoration by Ellen Stubbings, pin by beckycas & stickers by haymoonstudio, tiny snowman by Kate Elford (not quite as tiny as the micro mochi snowman on a pin at the back!).

I put a few things on my Etsy wish list for gift ideas and got this cool embroidery kit by Nelly Makes. It’s so colourful and I love the space theme. I haven’t started this yet but I’m looking forward to it.

iphone case

iPhone case & ring

I’ve been meaning to buy a new phone case since I upgraded my phone in 2019 but the old one fitted so I never got around to it. This is by the same designer (Carly Watts) and it is nice to have a shiny new case. I also bought myself a Jinbe San ring grip from San-X. It’s so cute, and handy for propping my phone up – and not dropping it so often. Unfortunately, all the shiny gold print rubbed off within days but it’s still cute without it.

Rilakkuma outfits

Rilakkuma got gifts too – 2 new outfits! He and Kogumachan are really spoiled. We got them matching puffy jackets from San-X and Nicolette sewed up the cute little party set from my Spoonflower fabric.

society6 comforter

Comforter

After a lot of delays and confusion, my Black Friday comforter from Society6 finally turned up (after they already sent a replacement, argh! They kindly told me to keep both). I got my Kawaii Skies design to match with the Solar System comforter I already own.

The new one seems so big and fluffy in comparison and so nice and warm. It’s great to have one on the sofa and one in my bedroom, especially since it’s been a cold winter (or else I am getting old and feeling it more). Definitely recommended! It does end up quite expensive with shipping and customs fees but if you get a big discount on the comforter, I think it’s totally worth it. You can see all my designs on Society6.

string lights

String lights

I spent much of November & December trying to fix my snowman lights but getting the right bulbs has been way too complicated. Instead I packed them away with the Christmas decorations and started looking something new. And then the Winter Pusheen Box arrived (my review is on SCK) with just the pom pom garland I wanted! The colours are so perfect and it has little Pusheens too.

It isn’t bright at all though so I picked up some tiny star lights from Amazon. These are surprisingly bright, especially as it’s long enough to get multiple rows. I think the 2 together look super cute and make the evenings so cosy.
