Tokyo Shopping Guide: Tama Depa

tama depa

Sadly, both Tama Depa stores have now closed. Visit my Tokyo Shopping Guide for more kawaii shops to visit instead.

One of the most fun character shops, the Tama Depa (Tamagotchi Department Store) revels in Tamagotchi madness. I’m sure you’re aware of the Tamagotchi virtual pet craze and now they also have a whole range of character goods available.

In the Harajuku store you’ll find video games, educational toys, stationery, toys and gashapon. Sadly the Kuchipatchi mouth of truth is no longer around but you can still pick up some hot mini donuts.

I wouldn’t say the Tama Depa is worth going out of your way for, but it’s right next to Takeshita Dori with another branch in Character Street, so if you like crazy cute, pop in even just to hear the hilarious Tamagotchi music and pick up a a chocolate Mametchi lollipop.
