January 2025 Recap

Here’s a look back at my month with photos, blog posts, plans & goals progress, links and more.

What I’ve been up to

Starting the year off with a family trip to Holland, sadly not for happy reasons but still lovely to catch up with everyone and we managed a bit of sightseeing, shopping and eating too. More on that soon. Other than that, I have mostly been sick and trying to get my life back in order. Hopefully the universe will give me a break soon. I should really do a business update soon too as a few things have actually been happening.

Plans & Goals Progress

  • Books, Comics & Zines I Read in 2025 – 4 read, 1 ahead of schedule!
  • I went to 2 new places this month (bingo)
  • I think I tried a new recipe twice this month but I forgot to update! (bingo)
  • I’m still learning Dutch on Duolingo
  • I started setting up my goal tracker journal

Links I Loved

  • Some great advice from Agents & Books On Making Peace With Your Work. I felt so many of these feelings about my own book. One of the major pros of blogging is that you can keep tweaking your posts forever.
  • An absolute classic from Food is Stupid – Dennis recreates the worst holiday family recipes suggested by his subscribers and they are truly grim. Welcome to the holiday from hell.
  • Lucy Worsley now has a Substack that is well worth subscribing to – most posts have been free so far.
  • I really need these Zelda Zonai device magnets that even come in the same capsules as the game.
  • A reminder that I share all my kawaii & Japan links on the Super Cute Kawaii newsletter. It’s free! These will now be special standalone emails – here’s the Christmas one.
  • I started playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and have been getting really into it. If you’d like to add me, here’s my card (click here for a bigger image of just the QR code side). A reminder that this no longer means you are added to my game or that it will update when I change my outfit – feel free to send me yours!
